after all the stresses of finding a place and dining table and fridge and washing machine..we are a day away from owning our new house. it's a big relief!
Had a productive day at football. Scored some excellent goals. You guys should have been there....
Ouch...
a word of advice....don;t ever walk behind your other half whilst you're wearing flip flops as the sight and sound of your toe nail cracking as it bends backwards is not nice....not to mention painful!!!
thank god....
Well, finally, we exchanged yesterday with completion next week. Really relieved.
Also had a result with 3. After getting my phone back, I emailed Simon teague, who signatures always appeared on all the letters. Anyway i got an instant reply and then got a call from the guy that actually do the repairs.
it's back with them so hope this time it gets fixed...
Anyway, off today to go buy somw stuff..
Catch you guys later.

Still homeless.....
Well, we are still homeless......well homeownerless anyway. The latest (cutting a very long story very sort) is that we are waiting for the guy at the top to drop his contract papers off to his solicitor (as you do when one lives in Kent and one's solicitor is in Leicester). Anyway, we're hoping to exchange tomorrow with completion on tuesday 6th.
Lets see, hey?
Anyway, today's rant...is with 3!! I spent a decent period of saturday morning trying to impress upon the 3 customer servcices that my phone was with them again for the fault as last time, ie becaue my mic was intermittently faulty. Told them to put something on the notes so the repair people can read this....so what happens today? It's on its way back to me as "no fault found". Fuc@ing muppets!!!
It's a shame as 3 are doing well. They're a good network as such and the customer service is normally brilliant, but ask em to do anythign out of norm and they crumble...oh well.
Just watching the gadget show...iPhone -v-N95!

Well it looks like this friday is not going to happen! The guy at the top of the chain has decided to tell his solicitor that he can only complete on the 9th of november...which happens to be diwali.
We've stood our ground and insisted on this friday, but its not looking too good. At the moment, we've suggested friday 2nd and (reluctantly) teh 23rd november. I can't do either of the fridays in between as it'as Diwali on the 9th and I'm in vegas on the 16th!
Will keep you updated...
On the plus side, I now have sound working on my linux machine. And i haven't booted up in Windows for nearly 3 weeks.....yey!!

It's been a long time....
Hi folks. It's been a long time....where do i start??
Well, I've truly done with British Gas, that's for sure. End of that chapter - THANK GOD!!!
Oh, I now have a new laptop. Again, thank god. We won't go into the logistics of how and where, needless to say PC World are still muppets!
We'ew still in the process of buying our house, and whilst we've been trying to exchange three fridays ago (with a view to completing next friday), we are still no closer to exchanging. As much as I am frustrated by my solicitors (they were sending an 'urgent fax' to the other side today....which didn't leave their office until 5pm!!!!), we are trying to make sure we have all the paperwork for the various extensions. Can't afford to go ahead without the necessary building regulation consents.
So please keep your fingers crossed for a lucky day tomorrow...We could still exchange...
The problem of not exchanging is that we can't give notice at our current place just in case it all falls through!
My TV (which, bless its cotton socks, is nearly 10 years old...) was on its way out and i had resigned yself to having to finally invest in a flat screen...However, i've managed to get it repaired for £70 so that should take the pressure off for a while.
Anyway, off to bed. Catch you later..

British Gas
I forgot to tell you guys that I finally invoiced British Gas for wasting my time and continuously sending me the wrong invoice. I sent them an invoice for £30. They called the next day to say that they could not settle the bill, but could agree the sum of £30 as a gesture of good will! Idiots!
Anyway, got the cheque within days.

Choking Hazard.....
Hi. Was in a shop looking at some toys and saw a Space Hopper...it had a warning on the back which read..."Not suitable for children under 3 years..." (whih you might think is fair enough, but the sentence continued...."...contains small parts - choking hazard.."
Oh My God!
Oh My God!
Hi. Well, it has been a long time, hasn't it? Sorry guys (and dolls). I can't even remember what i was doing the last time I wrote...hold on, let me check....Oh yes the dreaded knee injury! That healed in time...thankfully.
My cousin Kamini's wedding was fun. I seemed to remember downing copious amounts of Guiness and black and Stella and some Comfort too....wasn't cheap but hey, what's £125 between family?? (bloody Hotel prices!!).
The wedding itself was good fun. Food was good when it arrived....I think they underestimated how fast the Bathuras would be consumed by hungry/drunk indians!
However, during the build up, I as introduced to what is going to be my new love....a Digital SLR camera! It was love at first sight (until i found out the price tag)...hmmmm can I affod a new hobby? We'll see...
We decided to stay in York in the end; there was no point in going back to the house in leeds, so we booked a B&B. Arrived there via another bar in the original hotel (after the wedding finished). I got excited at the sight of some cigars 'for sale' behind the bar and even went as far as ordering one, before realising that I would have to go out to smoke it - B077ocks to that! I think its still in the car. :-)
On the Monday, we left the B&B promptly ( I did all the std, falling asleep after ordering the late night food, ate the late night food and then was out for the count in true 'guiness & black' styleee) and headed back to leicester. That's when we crammed in all those house viewings.....nothing to report on that front...will keep you 'posted' - as it were.
Desperately in need of quiet weekend, we still had Hak's birthday weekend to go. That was great fun though. He has now acquired a Wii.
Nige came down on the train and after picking up a couple of bottles of Vodka for Hak, we headed down. We were dubious about the Finladia Grapefruit Vodka, but it turned out to be a winner. I would recommend it with ice (obviously) and a touch of sprite (other sugar-filled crap lemonade-type drinks are available from all all corner stores). We caned a bottle between the three of us in no time at all playing baseball on the Wii. Maaan, our arms were hurting the next day...
The weekend just gone was my cousin Vipul's engagement ceremony. I was on camcorder duties...(he duly sent the instruction manual to me to memorise a week early..). recording was fun, but man, it was a hot day. Unfortunately, that meant there was not much to record on the dancefloor as most people were outside. Respect to the DJ's though, they dismantled some of the equipment and set it up outside. Pity their mixing skills weren't as clever as that! They were positively shite! imagine mixing the sound of a jet engine with Beethoven....underwater.....during York Races.....just as England win the World Cup...worse than that!
Anyway, the drive up to leeds in an awkward position (due to having a passenger behind me) has caused my ankle to seize up! In a lot of pain, but will survive.
Oh, and as for my new found love, I am now the owner of a Nikon D40x SLR camera...I even have my first photography magazine.
Hairy, well done on your egg and spoon race, will sort you out with some money when we meet in Danish-lad...can't wait.
Jo, see you at the airport bright and early!
Ciao...

Hello from a injured Kam. Have managed to do my knee in since last week's football. Very painful to walk, but sitting down and doing nothing is just fine :-)!!
Went to a cousin's BBQ on saurday which was fun. However, there was a scary moment hen we had to give chase to some local chavs. Luckily, Manisha was on form and go there in time before anyone got hurt - way to go Mangu!
Sunday was busy too - had a Shrimant (religious pre-baby shower) to attend. Luckily it finshed fairly early and i could rest my knee.
The doctors only reckon its a 'soft tissue injury' which should heal in a few days. Fingers crossed! Got my cousin's wedding to go to at the weekend and at this rate, walking i no fun!
Anyway, must dash, dinn has just been served....

Midweek catchup
Hi. Seems like ages since i've been here....meagrly got withdrawal symptoms! Everyday seems to be taken up with discussing the forthcoming shrimant and my cousins wedding.
We received a parcel from my uncle in india. We've now got all the suits for which Anita bought the material for whilst in india. My uncle, bless him, tailored all the suits himself. Now anita has a complete wardrobe...or does she? We.ll have to see.
They were also kind enough to send Anita a new sari which she will wear at the wedding coming up.
.
Work is cool. Busy as ever, but enjoyable still. Which is a bonus.
Bedtime now. So catch you all later.

The Weekend
Had mymother in law and brother in law over on saturday. We took them to Feast India, which is a brilliant placeto eat...as close to India as is possible when you're4,500 miles away! However, I left with a bit of a bad taste. We asked for a jug of tap water, but apparently they don't serve tap water! Plenty of still and Sparkling water, but no free tap water. Anyway, after I calmed down a bit and considered the clientele a bit more closely and could see where they where they were coming from.
No one would buy a single drink, let alone bottled water if they gave it out for free. I put up a bit of a struggle, but not enought to walk off in a huff!
Today (sunday) we walked...a lot..as the weather was so nice.Walked into town, but got the bus back asit was a bit of a trek.
Before i forget, Fantasic Four is brilliant! Wet out in the rain and thunderstorm.
Another week. Another longweek.....
Catch you the other end!
Peace

Bring on the weekend...
What another long day! Although I managed to get that IHT grossing up calculation done. That was a relief. I'm sure you'll all appreciate it!!
Got a text today telling me that manchester airport was shut due to a suspicious car.....they found it had a valid MOT, insurance and road tax...and to top it all, the stereo was still in the car!
I hear the Sven is the new manager for Manchester City...poor bugger, he's not a popular guy, and that's with his own crowd!! Good luck to him. I bet the FA are glad now that they don'thave to pay him £13,000 a day or something silly like that.
Played my football and had my soak and now off to bed, so take care all. Catch you later.
peace. K

Oh, I forgot to say....
most of my afternoon was taken up trying to work out Grossing up of an estate with exempt and non-exempt beneficiaries together with exempt and non exempt residuary benfciaries. A real head wrecker...but sort of satisfying! Need to tackle it again tomorrow....any help welcome!
Good night from me and good night from me.
Good night from me and good night from me.
The rain's still here...
Another long day. Things are getting busy at work. Anita's away on a team building excercise in peterborough and having fun by the sounds of it! Although the weather's not been brilliant.
Work was ok today, but it took me nearly 2hours to get home....just the day when i had the house to myself and I would have had all the time in the world to play Red Steel.....anyway, I still managed to get an hour or so in. A very good game. I can see myself getting hooked on it.
Good news of the day......I read that he Wii is outselling the PS3 by 6 to 1 in Japan! Excellent news!
Just watched Earl..he's always a laugh, but bowthat's finished, there's not much else on. Must get back to flicking..
see you later guys.

After all got done we managed to get some time to go to town. There's a brilliant shop in St Martin's Square that does kitchen stuff. One of best shops I'vebeen to. The guy who owns it knowsexaclty what he's talking about - which makes a change from loads of other shops I could mention.
Anyway, they do this new silicon material whicch can withstand upto 350C. Brilliat stuff! Silicon baking trays, cake 'tins' and so much more.
This time we got a lemon juicer with a difference. I guess you'll have to come round to see it!
Managed to mess up the cinema times and got to Vue for 5pm to watch Fantastic 4, but the next shw was not until 6.30. So we watched Apne. It's an ok film, but I wouldn't watch it again. Probably wouldn't even recommend anyone go to the flicks to watch it. just wait until it comes out on DVD. I'm not a fan of the Deol juniors either. A pair of dull ctors. Dharmendra w trying to hard too.
Right, got o go....got a new Wii game - Red Steel so need to practice on that!

Hello to blogging...
Finally, I have given in and started a Blog. A bog to me was like one of those things that you hear everyone talk about, but never really grasped what all the fuss was about! For me it was like when Windows was first released..I really didn't have a clue about computers then, let alone what MS Dos and Windows was.
In the end it turns out a lot simpler than I had thought. Although this keyboard is a little temperamental, This blogging lark is sort of good fun.... I might come off the facebook site and just rely on this to vent my daily anger and frustrations...and believe me, there are lots of those. I currently have a beef with British Gas and Vodafone...I'm about to invoice BG for £15 for wasting my time with an incorrect bill. I let you (if there is anyone there) know how i get on!
Anyway, if you're reading this, then please holler back..
Bye for now...
