SPORT RELIEF 2010.....Finally

I can thankfully say that the 3 mile jog/walk is over! some of you may not know, but I had gout in my right ankle on the day (and before), so walking was painful, let alone jogging or even training!

Anyway, after lots of Ibuprofen and magic footballers spray, I am pleased to say that we both completed the run in 44m53s. I am over the moon with this as I had given myself an hour to finish it.

So, a big thank you to all those that have sponsored us and a gentle reminder to those that have forgotten to do so. You know the money is going to a great cause.

Thanks

I'll keep this short and sweet....Anita and I have put our names down for 3 miles each for this year's Sport Relief on 21st March 2010 at Birmingham. If you would like to sponsor us, then please do here:

2010 update....

Well, hello guys. Osrry it's been so long! We had a great time in India. Like 3 mini holidays in one.

The first week was hectic - we were shopping continuously for a week straight. Somedays starting at 9 in the morning and not coming back until 9 at night! When we were finished, we ended up shipping 120kgs of sarees and other shopping back to the UK. Well, we didn't want to carry that lot around with us in Goa and Kerala.

We the took a flight to Goa (after a 4.5 hour car ride back to Mumbai). 4 days in Goa relaxing. We never did much as that's what the plan was. I think we visited a spice plantation (oh, and the elephant 'training centre'!!). Aniat and I took the plunge and did some parasailing. it wasn't as exhilirating as we expected. it was more like a slow lift to the sky and back down again - not the fast rollercoaster feel I was expecting. Anyway, we're both glad we did it.

The hotel was excellent. Much better than I had expected.

Another flight, this time to Kerala. There it was 34C in the day and about 25C in the night. Had a brilliant time there. The hotel was fabulous. The reception we got was second to none. A drink when we arrived, face cloth to freshen up with and that's all while they bring the paperwork to us for checking in. Really good service too.

The food was lovely. One of teh restaurants had people playing live indian classical instruments. REally good atmosphere. Also, on the first day, I saw the one and only Om Puri. You'll know him better as the dad in East is East.

I'll update this as i remember things....but that's the jist of our trip....now planning the next one - probably in 3 years time!!
